About the role: Speech Pathologist
Caddens Care Speech Pathologist will be responsible for evidence-based clinical service delivery to people living with a disability funded under NDIS or Allied Health. Caddens Care Speech Pathologist is community based, working with people living with a disability at their home, our office or other preferred place to support goal fulfilment.
Caddens Care Speech Pathologist will work as part of a growing team and is committed to creating effective support plans, connected communities, and achieving individual outcomes through the provision of NDIS services.
Responsibilities of Caddens Care Speech Pathologist will include:
· Develop and deliver evidence based, person centred assessment, clinical management and intervention to people with physical, cognitive or psycho-social disability in line with NDIS Plan goals
· Identify, assess and prepare funding applications for AAC systems
· Develop and support implementation of AAC training for people living with a disability, their families, support workers and other stakeholders
· Assess and develop recommendations on the functional impact of disability on positioning, eating and swallowing
· Assessment and development of mealtime management plans in consultation with people living with a disability, their support workers, families, advocates and other allied health disciplines
· Adopt a person centred and strengths-based approach to support people living with a disability to capacity build towards goals
· Complete high quality and accurate therapy and progress reports to people living with a disability, support workers, NDIS, Support Coordination and other external stakeholders
· Participate in quality improvement and allied health service delivery projects as requested by Caddens Care Director
What you need to join the Caddens Care Team
· Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
· Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia
· Strong understanding and commitment to the Child Safe Standards and NDIS Practice Standards
· Knowledge and experience in AAC, assessing function for positioning, eating and swallowing, and mealtime management
· Experience working or lived experience of disability
· Experience in person centred care through effective assessment, care planning, case conferencing and review of support plans
· Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
· Experience meeting deadlines and organisational goals
Caddens Care undertakes compliance checks for all prospective employees. You must be eligible to work in New South Wales and able to provide:
· NDIS Worker Clearance
· Police Criminal History Check (completed within 12 months)
· Working with Children Check
· First Aid Certificate
· Valid Driver Licence and access to a safe vehicle
· Quality, Safety & You Certificate
· Two referees, including a current supervisor, who can explain why your skills, experience and personal attributes make you an ideal candidate for our team
